BENEFITS OF KEEPING YOUR TEETH AND GUMS HEALTHY

Not visiting a dental hygienist regularly will likely result in your teeth having a great amount of plaque and bacteria. When these grow below the gumline, you won’t be able to remove them with your usual brushing and flossing technique. If the plaque isn’t removed, it can turn into tartar, which can significantly damage your teeth and gum, and may result in the need for tooth extraction and the treatment of gum disease and tooth decay.

The following are signs of tartar build-up:

    Bad breath

    Bleeding gums

    Swollen and inflamed gums

    Receding gums

    Loose teeth

  • Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is as it say primarily focus on the aesthetic or visual appearance of your teeth and your smile.

Having white, shiny and straight teeth always improves self confidence and allows us to laugh and smile out loud without holding back.

    Common procedures are:

Braces to straighten teeth and close up gaps.

Teeth whitening to remove stains and have nice white teeth like when we were young.

Dental veneers which cap our teeth to create a uniformed appearance of our teeth.

Total smile make over which entails a more complex plan over time.

As with all procedures these can be tailored to suit your budget and time.

  • Orthodontics

Orthodontics is a dental service that focuses on adjusting the position of teeth in your mouth, using braces or other orthodontic tools. This can involve using brackets and wires or clear aligners like Invisalign to straighten rotated teeth, correct crowded or overlapped teeth, and close gaps between teeth. Apart from improving the appearance of your teeth, orthodontic treatment can also address the functional aspect of tooth movement, such as correcting bite alignment issues known as malocclusion, which can cause problems like TMJ and lead to pain in the head, neck, or shoulders. There are various treatment options available, and our team are happy to discuss them with you during a consultation.

  • Dental Implants

Modern dentistry technologies have now made dental implants the best option for a permanent life time solution to replacing missing teeth.

Dental implants are made from titanium and are anchored in the gum and jawbone. Titanium is used as the bone and body likes this material and creates a permanent bond. The implant’s screw-like shape helps it stay in place by providing more surface area for your bone to grow into, a process called osseointegration.

Replacement teeth, referred to as crowns, are then permanently secured to these metal implants. Dental implants improve your appearance and allow you to speak with greater clarity than you would with dentures that need refitting over time.

  • 3 D x-rays and Photos

We use the latest 3d imaging software and low dose xrays to see what is happening inside and underneath the tooth. We also use this to identify any issues in the jawbones, face and screen for cancer.

We have tiny dental cameras which are mini colour cameras that take photos of your teeth so you can see for yourself in colour what is exactly what is happening. This allows you to be fully aware, informed and make the right decision for you or your family members.
